Nanotechnology is often associated with materials fabrication, microelectronics, and microfluidics; using nanotechnology and molecular self-assembly in biomedicine to repair injured brain structures had never been explored. Specifically, nanotechnology appears to be a promising tool for improving molecular imaging, seamlessly integrating diagnosis and therapy in neuro-oncology, identifying targets for selective neuromodulation, as well as promoting neuroregeneration. The process of nano neuro knitting for nervous system tissue repair is carried out by engineering nanostructures for use as neural prosthetics and scaffolding in the brain. The nano neuro knitting process is two-fold. Firstly, the nanostructure is constructed. A group of European researchers has now shown that carbon nanotubes may become the ideal material for repairing damaged brain tissue.
